Youth drowns while bathing in Nalla Veshow, Kulgam

A 21-year-old youth drowned to death while taking a bath in Nalla Veshow at Khrewan Chadder area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Shahid Ahmad Rather, son of Mohammad Maqbool Rather, a resident of Yarikhah D.H.Pora. Shahid was working as a baker in the Khrewan Chadder area.

According to locals, Shahid had gone to the Nalla Veshow for bathing when he accidentally slipped into deep water and drowned.

Upon receiving the information, Incharge SHO Kulgam Neeraj Badyal along with his team rushed to the spot and retrieved the body. The body was later shifted to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities.

The tragic incident has left the local community in shock and mourning over the untimely death of the young man.
