As a colossal winter storm barrels across the US, 63 million Americans will find themselves exposed to freezing conditions. States of emergency declare in two regions, while vast regions face disruptions.

This savage winter storm has thrown the United States into turmoil, affecting over 63 million people, while two states have declared an emergency. With temperatures dropping dangerously low, it now seems to prepare even more trouble for the country in the coming days.  

What experts call one of the worst storms in recent history has brought down nearly everything in terms of travel. Thousands of people are now stranded at the airports, as train services have stopped. Roads are treacherous, and with icy conditions on the roads, a number of accidents are registered. Reports tell about damages due to the loss of power in several areas, forcing residents to face freezing nights without heating.  

Two states, Montana and South Dakota, declared emergency measures, threatening to extend that conditional restrain to very limited resources. Citizens are urged to stay at home and travel only when necessary. The schools in several areas have also closed, while local shelters are full of people looking for refuge from the biting cold.  

Critics say that the United States is not quite ready for such types of severe weather events. One expert in climate comment says: "We knew this was coming, yet infrastructure remains vulnerable." Others favor urgent investment in the existing unaffordable weather-resistant constructions so that future calamities will be averted from hitting the community.  

As the storm continues to bitterly grip everyone, millions must exist beyond the threshold of danger and uncertainty, with a hope for fast recovery and much warmer days ahead. All these happenings prove the growing urgency in doing proactive climate action considering the increasing extreme weather.
