17 Injured in Nayug Tunnel Accident at Qazigund, All Referred to GMC Anantnag

Qazigund, Mar 27: At least 17 people sustained injuries in a road accident inside the Banihal-Qazigund Nayug Tunnel on Wednesday evening.

According to officials, an SRTC bus, traveling from Jammu to Srinagar, crashed inside the tunnel, resulting in injuries to 17 passengers.

Traffic inside the tunnel was initially suspended following the accident but was later restored, authorities confirmed.

Dr. Shugufta Salam, the Medical Superintendent of Emergency Hospital Qazigund, informed the media that all 17 injured individuals were referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for further treatment.

Meanwhile, the police have taken cognizance of the incident, and an investigation is underway.
