A tragic incident occurred in the Peerbal Frisal area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district on Friday, as a 3-year-old girl was fatally struck by a speeding truck.
According to official reports, the truck, bearing registration number JK05 AB 9876, hit the young girl near her home in Peerbal Frisal. The victim has been identified as Zainab Junaid, the daughter of Junaid Ahmad Sofi, aged 3, a resident of Frisal.
The accident has left the local community in deep shock and mourning. Authorities quickly responded to the scene, and the truck driver, identified as Umer Rehman Mantoo, son of Ab Rehman Mantoo, a resident of Kanjikulla Yaripora, was arrested by the police.
A case has been registered, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing. Local authorities have expressed their condolences to the grieving family and are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal accident.
