Awareness Programme on New Criminal Laws Organized at HSS Zachaldara.

Zachaldara, Feb 24: In line with the directives of the Worthy District Magistrate Kupwara, an awareness programme on the three newly enacted Criminal Laws was successfully conducted at Higher Secondary School Zachaldara. The initiative was jointly organized by the Tehsil Administration Zachaldara and Handwara Police to educate the public on the key provisions of the new legal framework.

The event saw the participation of students, teachers, and community members. SHO Handwara, Sofi Vilayat, delivered a detailed briefing on the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023. He explained the major changes introduced in the criminal justice system, focusing on justice, victim rights, and public safety. Following the session, an interactive question-answer segment was held, allowing participants to seek clarifications and engage in discussions on various legal aspects.

Tehsildar Zachaldara, Syed Basharat Rasool, concluded the programme by emphasizing the importance of public awareness in fostering an informed and responsible society. He highlighted that the primary objective of such initiatives is to familiarize citizens with the new laws, ensuring better understanding and compliance.

"The three new Criminal Laws aim to modernize the criminal justice system, ensuring swift justice, enhanced victim protection, and a more secure society. Community participation in spreading awareness is crucial for the effective implementation of these laws," Tehsildar Zachaldara stated.

The awareness programme was widely appreciated by the attendees, who acknowledged the significance of understanding legal reforms in promoting justice and security within the community.
