Kulgam, Dec 20:A road accident was reported inside the Navayuga Tunnel at Qazigund on Saturday evening after a trailer truck bearing registration number JK02DJ-8655 rammed into two vehicles in the down tube of the tunnel.
According to officials, the trailer collided with a Tata Mobile (HP74A-3031) and a Sumo vehicle (JK20-3127), causing partial damage to all three vehicles. Following the collision, the down tube of the tunnel was temporarily blocked, leading to the suspension of traffic movement through the tunnel.
Fortunately, no injuries or loss of life were reported in the incident.
Soon after receiving information, Qazigund Police and highway authorities rushed to the spot and initiated clearance operations to remove the damaged vehicles and restore normal traffic flow. Traffic remained halted while the clearance work was underway.
