KULGAM, DECEMBER 29: Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan (IAS), on Monday inaugurated the 11 KV Chattabal Power Feeder at Chawalgam, which has been segregated from the existing 11 KV Chawalgam feeder.
The initiative aims to improve electricity supply in Kulgam town B-part, including Chawalgam and its adjoining areas, as well as the Chattabal area, by ensuring a dedicated and streamlined power distribution system.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the segregation of the feeder was a long-pending demand of residents from both Chawalgam and Chattabal areas. He emphasized that the move would lead to rationalized electricity distribution and significantly enhance the quality and reliability of power supply in the region.
Officials from the Power Development Department informed that the creation of the new feeder will reduce load pressure on the existing feeders and improve overall efficiency of power distribution, benefiting residents of the surrounding localities.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Executive Engineer KPDCL Kulgam, Assistant Executive Engineers (AEEs), other departmental officers, and local residents, who welcomed the initiative and expressed hope for improved power services.
