KULGAM, MARCH 25: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kulgam, Aamir Athar Khan (IAS), chaired a crucial meeting today at the mini-secretariat Kulgam, where he reviewed the arrangements for the upcoming auspicious occasions of Shab-e-Qadr, Jumat-ul-Vida, Eid-ul-Fitr, and Navratra. The meeting was attended by officers from various departments, as well as members of the Awqaf and the traders' association.

During the meeting, the DC focused on ensuring the availability of essential items in the district, including poultry, ration, and LPG. He also emphasized the need to monitor market conditions closely and take steps to prevent black marketing and profiteering. The DC urged the concerned departments to ensure the sale of safe and high-quality food items during these festive days.

To ensure the smooth functioning of essential services, the DC directed relevant departments to maintain an uninterrupted supply of drinking water and electricity throughout the district. He also instructed the deployment of water tankers in areas where additional supply may be required during the festive period.

The DC specifically mentioned the importance of sanitation during this time, calling for cleaning and sanitation drives at Mosques, Shrines, and Temples to ensure a clean and safe environment for all visitors. Furthermore, he directed the transport authorities to ensure that devotees attending congregational prayers do not face any inconvenience while commuting to shrines and mosques.

In light of the large gatherings expected during these occasions, the DC instructed the Health Department to set up medical camps equipped with paramedical staff, critical care ambulances, and essential medicines at the main congregation points and major shrines to provide immediate medical assistance if required.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed that all concerned officers must work with heightened dedication, energy, and close coordination to ensure the successful and hassle-free execution of activities related to Shab-e-Qadr, Jumat-ul-Vida, Eid-ul-Fitr, and Navratra across the district.

The meeting was attended by ADDC Altaf Ahmad Khan, ACR, ACP, Tehsildars, CMO, AD-FCS&CA, and other senior officers, as well as representatives from the Awqaf and the traders’ association.
