DC Kulgam Visits District Hospital, Urges Timely Completion of Ongoing Projects

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan (IAS), visited District Hospital Kulgam to review the progress of various ongoing health infrastructure projects under execution at the facility.

During the visit, the DC inspected multiple ongoing works and issued instructions for their timely and quality completion. He emphasized the need to expedite the construction of the 50-bedded Critical Care Unit, IHIP Laboratory, an additional block for Maternity and Child Health, repair and renovation of the existing hospital building, a new ticketing counter, an autopsy room, and a dedicated DNB hostel.

DC Athar Aamir also interacted with patients to take firsthand feedback on the healthcare services being provided. He assured that all necessary measures are being taken to further strengthen health infrastructure in the district.

It is pertinent to mention that under the District Capex Budget Upgradation Plan 2024, civil and allied works worth an estimated Rs. 2.61 crore are currently underway at the hospital to bridge infrastructural gaps and enhance patient care.

The hospital administration expressed gratitude to the DC for his continued support in upgrading the facility. Key enhancements already implemented include the installation of a digital X-ray plant, a modern anesthesia workstation enabling orthopedic surgeries, and the addition of three dialysis machines, including one exclusively for Hepatitis B patients.

The DC was accompanied by ACR Kulgam Riyaz Ahmad Shah, Tehsildar HQ, Medical Superintendent of DH Kulgam, DEIC team, Executive Engineer PWD Kulgam, AEE's, and other administrative staff during the visit.
