Baramulla, 23rd October 2025: In a heartening initiative aimed at nurturing creativity, moral education and societal up-liftment, DIG North Kashmir Range Shri. Maqsood-ul-Zaman (IPS) was called upon by the “Young Authors Community Group” from District Baramulla at the Range Headquarters for an inspiring interaction.
This vibrant group of young minds has authored numerous books across genres including art, poetry and fiction with a special focus on combating the drug menace through literature. Their mission is to revive the book culture and guide students away from screens and toward meaningful engagement with literature and learning.
During the interactive session, the authors shared their aspirations and challenges, seeking institutional support to expand their reach and impact. They emphasized the need for a platform to inspire more competitive and socially conscious youth to join their movement. DIG NKR lauded their efforts and assured full support from North Kashmir Police, encouraging them to continue working in the right direction for the betterment of society.
In a special gesture, DIG NKR also felicitated Umer Ashraf, a distinguished player from the Indian Deaf Cricket Association, with a cash prize to boost his morale and encourage his continued participation in sports. This recognition underscores the commitment of the police force to uplift and empower youth across diverse fields.
The events marked a significant step in bridging law enforcement with community-driven change, reinforcing the message that moral education and creative expression are powerful tools in shaping a resilient and progressive society.
