Jammu and Kashmir Police recently organized special awareness programs in two prominent educational institutions to inform students and the youth about newly enacted criminal laws and to provide essential knowledge on drug abuse prevention. The programs were held on October 15, 2025, at Government Higher Secondary School, Salia, and Government Degree College, Sopore.

During the programs, police officials educated students about three newly implemented laws: the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagorik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA). The officials explained the main features, objectives, and applications of these laws in simple terms, highlighting students’ rights and responsibilities and emphasizing the role of youth in maintaining law and order.

In addition, a special session on drug abuse prevention was held in Anantnag. The session focused on the physical, mental, and social consequences of drug addiction and encouraged students to adopt healthy, drug-free lifestyles. Through real-life examples, students were guided on preventive measures and the importance of making responsible choices.

The administration of the institutions expressed deep gratitude to the police for promoting legal awareness among youth and fostering positive social behavior.

These initiatives are part of the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s ongoing efforts to raise public awareness and actively engage with the younger generation on matters of law, discipline, and social responsibility.
