J&K Rain, Snow Till March 16; It Should Clear Up in Afternoon

According to the weatherman, Srinagar MeT, light to moderate rain and snowfall are likely on March 15 and 16, intermittently, in J&K. By the afternoon of March 16, it will start improving, having generally dry conditions from March 17 and onwards.

The MeT has said most of J&K will witness some light to moderate rain or snow on March 15 while light precipitation at some places is likely in the morning of March 16, giving way to gradual clearance in the afternoon.

From March 17 to 25, generally dry weather is likely, with some cloudiness expected on the evening of March 19. After March 16, stable conditions should persist, which will keep significant disruption at bay.

Assuming conditions remain as such, advisories have been issued by the MeT Centre for travelers, tourists, transporters, and farmers alike. Travelers and transporters are advised to honor administrative and traffic advisories owing to disruptions they may face due to rains and snow.

Farmers have been advised to suspend farming activities to avoid damage from the rains until March 16. Also, the people have been advised to stay away from avalanche-prone places and landslide-prone areas since there are chances of mudslides and shooting stones at these places.

Weather conditions are likely to stabilize after March 16. Meanwhile, residents and visitors have been requested to observe necessary precautions while the authorities are keeping a watchful eye on the situation.
