Jammu: Jammu Smart City Limited (JSCL) has announced that the bus fares will be increased by 7% from April 1, 2025. The hike is imperative to meet growing operational expenses and maintain smooth public transport operations. The new fare structures will hit bus routes all around Jammu city and the surrounding areas such as Kathua, Katra, and Udhampur.

JSCL clarified that the fare hike comes after directives from the Finance Department and takes into account the latest costs of operating the buses but maintains high-standard service.

In addition to this, under the Chief Minister's agenda, JSCL is also implementing the provision of free travel for women on eBuses. The department said additional information and details regarding the scheme will be revealed shortly, based on a Ziraat Times statement.

JSCL underscored its commitment to offering comfortable, affordable, and reliable public transportation for residents and travelers alike in the region. The revised fares are meant to ensure quality of service while at the same time supporting the financial well-being of public transport services.
