Close vigil being maintained to ensure a secure environment in the region: Police
Kulgam, April 2: In the wake of consecutive encounters in Kathua district, authorities have ramped up security measures along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH) to maintain peace and order.
A senior police official confirmed that, under the direction of SSP Kulgam Sahil Sarangal, senior officers are actively overseeing security operations. Multiple checkpoints have been established along the highway, where security forces are stopping and thoroughly checking vehicles to ensure the safety of the region.
"Close vigilance is being maintained along the National Highway to prevent any untoward incidents and ensure a secure environment in the area," the official said.
The enhanced security protocol comes as part of broader efforts to maintain law and order following the recent encounters in Kathua, with officials stressing the importance of staying alert to prevent any escalation in the region.
