The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of planned power shutdowns across multiple districts in the Valley to carry out essential maintenance, upgrades, and digitisation of the electricity network. The shutdowns will impact several areas from October 14 through October 30, with each outage scheduled for a few hours during the day.

The maintenance work includes reorientation of 33 KV transmission lines, construction of new circuits, branch trimming, stabilisation, and full digitisation of grid operations. On October 14, the Sangam-II line will be shut from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM, affecting K-Koot, Panzgam, Saimooh, Hariparigam, Kaigam, Chakoora, Gulzarpora, Rakh Litter, Naina, Batpora, Khella, and surrounding areas. Additional shutdowns in Kulgam, Anantnag, and Srinagar will also occur on the same day.

On October 15, power supply will be disrupted in parts of Pulwama, Budgam, and Anantnag, impacting areas including Pulwama Town, Babhaar, Pinglena, Tahab, Kakawring, Charar-i-Sharief, Nagam, and Devsar. On October 16, outages will affect parts of Srinagar, Anantnag, and Kulgam, including Silk Factory, Rambagh, Narkara, Gangbugh, Hiller, Qazigund, Vessu, and Kund, due to work on multiple transmission circuits.

Further scheduled outages are planned on October 19, 20, 22, 23, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, and 30 across several 33 KV lines. Areas affected include Pampore, Pulwama, Achabal, Shangus, Wanpoh, Sarnal, Mattan, and Gopalpora.

KPDCL officials emphasized that these measures are part of a long-term effort to strengthen power infrastructure and ensure reliable electricity during the winter months. Residents in the affected areas have been advised to plan ahead and cooperate during the scheduled shutdowns.

This maintenance drive is expected to improve overall grid stability, reduce unexpected outages, and facilitate smoother power supply across Kashmir in the coming months.
