Kulgam Police books notorious drug peddler under PIT-NDPS Act

March 21:Kulgam Police booked a notorious drug peddler under Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (PIT NDPS) after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.

The notorious drug peddler namely  *Ghulam Nabi Wagay son of Ghulam Ahmad Wagay resident of Gundipora, Qazigund* has been booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority, subsequently lodged in District Jail Udhampur.

The aforementioned drug peddler is a habitual offender, involved in Case FIR No. 02/2023 & 27/2023 of Police Station Kund. Despite having been bound down under preventive measures repeatedly, Ghulam Nabi Wagay persisted with his involvement in illegal drug trafficking, posing a grave threat to the society, especially the youth.

Known for his notoriety as a chronic miscreant and drug peddler, the accused person has been actively engaged in illegal drug trafficking and creating public nuisances. He is a key figure in the narcotics trade, procuring drugs from various sources and selling them at higher prices, primarily targeting the youth of Kund and other adjacent areas.

This decisive action by Kulgam Police demonstrates its unwavering commitment to combating the drug menace and protecting society. The tenacious efforts of Police will persist against drug peddlers and their illicit network with full might of law to ensure a safer and drug-free environment for the community.
