Kulgam Police seizes 600 litres of illicit kerosene; one accused arrested

April 03:In a significant crackdown on illegal activities, Kulgam Police recovered illicit kerosene in the jurisdiction of Police Station DH Pora and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of crime.

A special checkpoint was established by the police party led by IC PP Nehama at Pombay near Takiya Gopalpora crossing. During checking one vehicle (Load carrier) bearing registration number UP19T-6079 was intercepted and after search 03 Barrels filled with 600 litres of illicit kerosene were recovered. The accused person identified as Manzoor Ahmad Itoo son of Ali Mohammad Itoo resident of Pombay, Kulgam involved in the commission of crime has been arrested and the said vehicle was seized.

Accordingly, cases vide FIR No. 16/2025 under relevant sections of law have been registered in Police Station DH Pora and investigation is in progress. Preliminary investigation reveals that the accused was selling the Kerosene oil illegally in black market.
