Leopard Spotted, Captured Alive in Kulgam.

Kulgam, Apr 11: A leopard was captured alive by officials of the Wildlife Department in South Kashmir's Kulgam district on Friday, after it was spotted by locals in Oriel Kund village earlier in the day.

According to an official, residents noticed the wild animal roaming in the area this morning and immediately alerted authorities. "A team from the Wildlife Department rushed to the spot and laid a trap," the official said. "After hours of careful efforts, the leopard was successfully tranquilized and captured without any harm."

The presence of the leopard caused panic in the village, especially after it reportedly attempted to attack a man during the early hours.

The official confirmed that the animal will be relocated to a safer environment. “We’re ensuring it is taken to a secure location where it poses no threat to the public or itself,” he added.
