Market checking conducted in Qazigund ahead of Eid-Ul-Fitr

Qazigund, March 29:To check overpricing, profiteering and black marketing ahead of Eid-Ul-Fitr, Authorities carried out market checking in Qazigund town on Saturday.

An official told that a joint team of Police led by SHO Qazigund Masood-Ul-Hassan along revenue team and FCS&CA conducted market checking across the town to ensure all essential commodities are sold at government approved rates as per the quality standards with sufficient availability of consumables.

During the inspection, the squad team identified several violations, including the sale of expired food items. The violators were penalized on the spot, and the expired goods were immediately destroyed to prevent their sale. 

While interacting with the shopkeepers, the team members asked them to display rate lists at prominent places and adhere to the rates approved, keep shops neat and clean and ensure that all package commodities sold to the consumers must bear MRP, Package date, Net Content and other related information.
