Municipal Council Kulgam Nears Completion of Marriage Hall at Chawalgam

Kulgam | April 14: In a major boost to civic infrastructure and community convenience, the Municipal Council Kulgam is nearing completion of a modern marriage hall at Chawalgam. Developed at an estimated cost of Rs. 1.5 crore, the project is set to address the longstanding challenges residents have faced in hosting social gatherings within congested residential spaces.

The new facility is expected to serve as a dedicated, spacious venue for weddings and other community events, offering a more organized and accommodating alternative to home-based functions. This move comes as part of the council’s broader effort to enhance urban infrastructure and improve the quality of life for locals.

Residents have widely welcomed the initiative, expressing appreciation for the council’s proactive approach. Many have commended the Chief Executive Officer of the Municipal Council Kulgam, Zahid Sajad, for his leadership and dedication to community needs.

Speaking to media, CEO Zahid Sajad stated, “We will soon dedicate this project to the local residents, marking another milestone in our commitment to public welfare and urban development.” He also mentioned that there will be a booking charge for the hall, which will be decided by the Director of Urban Local Bodies Kashmir.

With the finishing touches underway, the marriage hall is expected to be operational in the near future, providing a much-needed facility for the people of Chawalgam and surrounding areas.
