The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out raids at 12 places in Jammu in a probe into Pakistani terrorist infiltration.

On the basis of concrete inputs, the searches were conducted in the early morning hours with the help of local police and security personnel.

The operation targeted the hideouts of hybrid terrorists and overground workers (OGWs).

The authorities raided the homes of persons suspected of abetting the activities of terrorists, thought to have offered logistical assistance, shelter, feeding, and finance to infiltrating terrorists.

This case, RC-04/2024/NIA/JMU, was filed on October 24, 2024, based on the instructions from the Ministry of Home Affairs. It probes the penetration of active terrorists associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed into Indian territory through the International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC).

Earlier, in November 2024, the NIA had carried out similar raids that led to the recovery of incriminating documents from the premises of suspects.

The operation is a part of a larger campaign to break networks that enable cross-border infiltration.

Investigations are continuing to track down and arrest all those involved in these activities.
