Kulgam, March 26, 2025: Kulgam Police on Wednesday took action against a notorious drug peddler, Reyaz Ahmad Ganie, by attaching his property in the Nussu Badragund area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. The property attached includes two double-storied residential houses owned by Ganie, who is currently lodged in Central Jail Kot Balwal, Jammu, under the provisions of the PIT NDPS Act.
An official from the police department confirmed the move, stating that the action was taken under Section 68-F(1) of the NDPS Act, 1985, by the Police Station Qazigund. The property was identified as having been illegally acquired through the proceeds of drug-related activities during an ongoing investigation and inquiry.
Reyaz Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Nassu Badragund, has been involved in multiple cases related to drug peddling, and his continued illegal activities have prompted the authorities to take stringent action.
The police further emphasized that any individuals found engaging in drug peddling will be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law. They assured the community that these actions were part of their ongoing efforts to combat the drug menace and create a safer environment for all.
“We are committed to eliminating drug peddling from our society, and these steps should reassure the public of our dedication to curbing this harmful activity,” said a police spokesperson.
