March 06 : As a part of Public outreach programme, Kulgam Police organized 'Thana Divas' function at Police station Qazigund. The meeting was chaired by SSP Kulgam Shri Sahil Sarangal-IPS. Besides, Addl. SP NHW Qazigund Shri Mumtaz Ali bhatti-JKPS, SDPO Qazigund, DySP probation officers, SHO PS Qazigund and other senior officers were present.
The meeting was attended by respectable citizens, civil societies, including members of Auqaf Committees, Numberdars, Chowkidars, Traders Federation and Transporters etc of Qazigund, Nassu Badragund, Vessu, Baihama, Bonigam and other adjacent areas
On these occasion, participants highlighted various issues of public importance. During the event, all the grievances were heard and were segregated on the basis of area of action and jurisdiction. The attendee were assured that all the grievances pertaining to Police department will be dealt as per the law and remaining grievances lying outside the domain of Police department will be taken up with the concerned authorities under laid down procedure.
During the meeting, the cooperation of general public in eradication of drug abuse, social crimes etc were sought. Participants were stressed upon to co-operate with Police in curbing the drug menace and in identifying anti national and anti-social elements who always try to disrupt the peaceful environment.
Moreover the officers explained the nuances of the new new laws, clarifying their implications and stressing the importance of adherence to legal statutes for maintaining societal order and provided clarifications on the legal provisions that ensure justice for the victims of crime and the society at large.
The participants appreciated the role of Kulgam Police for conducting such interaction meeting and assured their full support & cooperation in curbing the menace of social evils of the society.
