Tehsil Administration Cracks Down on Profiteering in Zachaldara Market Inspection Drive

Zachaldara, Date March 04 2025– In response to directives from the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara and in consideration of the ongoing holy month of Ramadhan, the Tehsil administration of Zachaldara, in collaboration with the J&K Police, Department of Food Safety, and Department of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs, conducted an extensive market inspection drive to curb illegal profiteering and ensure fair pricing of essential commodities.

During the inspection, officials visited various establishments, including grocery stores, vegetable and fruit vendors, and bakeries, to assess product quality and compliance with regulated pricing. Several shopkeepers found violating pricing norms or selling substandard and adulterated products were penalized, with fines imposed accordingly.

Speaking on the occasion, Tehsildar Zachaldara Mr Syed Basharat rasool reaffirmed the administration's commitment to strict enforcement of pricing regulations. He warned that legal action would continue against violators and urged all traders to adhere to the officially notified rates to safeguard consumer interests.

The administration assured that such inspections will be carried out regularly to maintain transparency and protect consumers from unfair trade practices.
