J&K: Bhaderwah blanketed in snow; tourists rush to Guldanda

Thousands of tourists flocked to Guldanda, Bhaderwah today. This after authorities allowed traffic on Bhaderwah-Pathankot National Highway after snow clearance up to Guldanda.

Guldanda is full of snow where tourists are enjoying. This place of Bhaderwah has become a favourite destination of Jammu region as tourists are coming from all over the country to enjoy the beauty.

Guldanda is located at above 10,000 feet above sea level is attracting thousands of tourists to enjoy the snow in the famous tourist destination of Jammu region.

Tourists are enjoying the snow at Guldanda and calling it one of the best places to visit. They are also asking others to visit Bhaderwah and explore it.

It is worth mentioning that after heavy snowfall the roads to Guldanda and other tourist destinations were closed but with the efforts of District Administration led by DC Doda Harvinder Singh and BRO, Bhaderwah-Basholi-Pathankot highway has been restored and traffic has been allowed for the visitors.
Meanwhile visuals are also coming from Srinagar’s Dal Lake as the city is in cold wave.

According to India Meteorological Department, minimum temperature in Srinagar is -2°C and maximum is 7°C with partly cloudy sky.

Notably Chillai Kalan has started in Jammu and Kashmir. It is a 40 day period of extreme cold in Jammu and Kashmir particularly in Kashmir Valley.

Also known as Chilla-i-Kalan, meaning “forty days of intense cold”, this period is marked by sub-zero temperatures, frozen water bodies and landscapes covered in frost and snow.

Snowfall is common in the region and life comes to a standstill. Temperatures plummet to minus and water bodies including parts of Dal Lake in Srinagar freeze.
