Kulgam, March 19: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan (IAS), today chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0 water supply projects in the district.

During the meeting, in-depth discussions were held regarding the status of various approved schemes under AMRUT 2.0, with a focus on key developments and challenges faced. The DDC was informed that four major works in the towns of Kulgam, Frisal, Yaripora, and Devsar had to be retendered due to a slow response from bidders earlier.

The DDC emphasized the need for swift action and directed the Superintending Engineer (SE) and Executive Engineers (XENs) to ensure the timely completion of the tender process, enabling the commencement of these important water supply projects without further delay.

The review meeting was attended by key officials including the SE Hydraulics Circle Anantnag/Kulgam, Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Zahid Sajjad, Executive Engineers of Jal Shakti, and Executive Officers (EOs) of Municipal Committees of Kulgam, Yaripora, Frisal, and Devsar.

The review of AMRUT 2.0 projects highlights the district's commitment to enhancing water supply infrastructure and ensuring the timely execution of vital urban transformation initiatives.
