Kulgam, April 08 – Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan (IAS), today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the progress of self-employment generation schemes being implemented across the district.
During the meeting, the DC took stock of various employment initiatives run by multiple departments, including the District Industries Centre (DIC), Employment Department, Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Handloom, Handicrafts, Cooperatives, KVIB, Women’s Development Corporation (WDC), and others.
DC Khan emphasized the urgent need for banks to expedite the disbursement of credit for all approved cases, ensuring swift financial support to eligible beneficiaries.
He also directed the concerned officers to ensure the full inclusion of unemployed youth identified in the baseline survey of Mission Yuva. The goal is to provide sustainable livelihood opportunities for all identified individuals.
In the meeting, the Assistant Director (AD) of Employment presented a detailed PowerPoint on the various self-employment schemes in operation, including PMEGP, PMFME, IDDS, HADP, KVIB, EDI, Mumkin, Vishwa Karma, Mudra, KVIC, and others.
The DC issued specific directions to all implementing agencies to conduct effective public outreach to engage more youth in these schemes, ensuring timely disposal of applications and smooth processing of approvals.
The meeting was attended by several district officers, including the General Manager (GM) DIC, Chief Agricultural Officer (CAO), Chief Horticulture Officer (CHO), Chief Animal Husbandry Officer (CAHO), District Sheep Husbandry Officer (DSHO), District Officer KVIB/KVIC, AD Handicraft/Handloom, District Lead District Manager (LDM), and District Manager WDC.
