Drug Peddler Nabbed, contraband Recovered in Kulgam

April 11: District Police Kulgam is making every effort to hunt down the drug peddlers in the district and to put them behind the bars. 

In this regard, a police party of Police Post Frisal established a checkpoint (Naka) at *Gundchahal Crossing, Shirpora* and during checking one suspected person whose identity has been ascertained as; Bilal Ahmad Lone S/O Ghulam Hassan Lone R/O Khee Jogipora carrying a bag was intercepted. After checking officers present were able to recover 4.688 Kg of Poppy Straw like contraband substance filled in the said bag carried by him.

Regarding this incident, a Case FIR No. 28/2025 U/S 8/15 of NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Yaripora and investigation has been set into motion.

General public is requested to come forward with any information regarding Drug peddling/anti-social activity in their vicinity and extend their cooperation to Police Kulgam in eradicating the drug menace from the society as Drugs are consuming the precious lives and career of our young generation.
