Dooru, April 13, 2025 — A wild cat created panic in Larkipora Dooru today after it strayed into a residential area and attacked three individuals before being rescued by the Wildlife Control Room Dooru team.

The incident unfolded earlier in the day when the wild cat entered the locality, causing fear and confusion among residents. In an attempt to manage the situation, two employees of the Wildlife Department — Aadil Ahmad Naik and Showket Ahmad Rather — were injured, along with a local civilian. All three were promptly taken to a nearby hospital and are currently reported to be in stable condition.

Responding quickly, the Wildlife Control Room Dooru team, led by Forester Mushtaq Ahmad Mir, managed to safely capture the animal without causing any harm. Following a thorough health check-up, the wild cat was released into its natural habitat, far from populated areas.

Authorities have advised residents, especially those living near forest fringes, to remain vigilant and immediately report any wildlife sightings. Officials lauded the swift and professional action of the rescue team, emphasizing that their timely response prevented a potentially more serious outcome.

The Wildlife Department is reportedly reviewing the incident and considering enhanced safety protocols to prevent future encounters between wild animals and the public.
