Srinagar, May 12: After a temporary suspension due to regional tensions, Haj pilgrimage flights from Srinagar International Airport are set to resume on May 14, officials confirmed on Sunday.
Dr. Shujaat Ahmad Qureshi, Executive Officer of the Jammu & Kashmir Haj Committee, stated that three Haj flights have been scheduled over two days, beginning Tuesday.
“All necessary arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth and safe departure for the pilgrims,” Dr. Qureshi said.
The flights had been suspended earlier following the closure of several airports, including Srinagar, amid a military standoff between India and Pakistan, which led to the temporary halt of civil aviation services in northern and western parts of the country.
With improved conditions and restored operations, authorities are now working closely with relevant departments to facilitate the journey of Haj pilgrims without further disruption.
