Rahul Gandhi after being questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for more than 10 hours on Monday, is slated to appear before the probe agency again today, and as per the official sources, he is expected to pen down his statement today.
Rahul was summoned by the ED for questioning in a money laundering case linked to the National Herald newspaper. On Monday, the first day of questioning, a massive protest was staged by the Congress party across the country. The party alleged that the Centre was targeting the Opposition by misusing ED and other agencies.
On Monday, Rahul Gandhi appeared before the ED at around 11 am. He was accompanied by top Congress leaders including sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
The first session of questioning lasted for almost two-and-a-half hours. He left the ED office for a lunch break during which he paid a visit to his mother Sonia Gandhi at the Ganga Ram Hospital. He returned to the ED office at 3.30 pm. The questioning was over at around 11 pm after which Gandhi had left the ED office.
