After a 17-year-old girl was gang-raped by a group of schoolboys inside a Mercedes car in Hyderabad on Saturday evening, BJP workers staged a massive protest at a city police station. So far, no one has been arrested in the case.
According to the police, the accused are all Class 11 and 12 students from “politically influential” families. The son of an MLA is thought to be among those involved, but police believe he may have fled before the assault.
The boys dropped the girl off at the pub and left after the gang-rape. She requested that her father pick her up.
When her father inquired about the injuries to her neck, she stated that she had been attacked by some boys.
Based on the girl’s father’s complaint, the police initially filed a case of “outraging modesty.” Later, it was changed to a rape case.
