The national capital's Bhagirath Palace market saw a big fire yesterday night that raged through the morning of today even as efforts were being made to put out the flames.

The official stated that the "situation is not very good" in the early hours of Friday while also revealing that a significant portion of the structure has been destroyed.

Atul Garg, Delhi Fire Service Director, stated that a significant portion of the structure had been destroyed and that firefighters were now putting out the fires with remote control fire fighting equipment. According to information obtained, getting fire engines to the scene of an accident in Old Delhi's tiny streets has become challenging.

The call came in at 9:19 o'clock. The Fire Department previously announced that more than 30 fire tenders, including one unmanned fireman, had been pushed into action.

Dr Harsh Vardhan, former health minister also visited the site in the early hours today and said, "Efforts are being put in to douse the fire. Fire officials and Police are at the site. Fire has not been brought under control so far. Two floors have been damaged. No casualty has been reported. The reason for the fire is not known yet."
