Delhi Jamia Masjid Dome Damaged in Evening Storm

Syed Ahmed Bukhari, the Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid, reported that two persons were injured by loose stones that fell from one of the minarets and other portions of the mosque.

"The main dome's Kalas (finial) has fallen off.  

To avoid further damage, it must be repaired immediately.  

Some of the mosque's stones loosened and fell off as well.  

I shall write to the Prime Minister requesting that the mosque ropeing in the Archaeological Survey of India be repaired immediately." 

Officials from the Delhi Waqf Board said a team was dispatched to the Jama Masjid to inspect and assess the damage.
