Delhi Police charges Fact-Checker co-founder Zubair Khan with FCRA, 56 lakhs credited to his account in last 3 months

Zubair Khan was arrested by police on Monday, June 27, in connection with a Tweet he had posted in 2018. After appearing before Delhi Magistrate Court, he was sent to police custody for four days

Fact-Checker’s co-founder Zubair Khan has been lodged with three charges under the sections of the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act.


As per the new charges slapped on Zubair, he has received a huge sum of money from foreign agencies. The Delhi Police have combed through his bank details and reportedly found that there have been several international transactions. The police have provided a copy of the bank details to the ED.


According to Police, Zubair Khan’s account has received 5.6 million rupees in the last three months. 


  Zubair Khan was arrested by police on Monday, June 27, in connection with a Tweet he had posted in 2018. After appearing before Delhi Magistrate Court, he was sent to police custody for four days. Now that this 4-day custody ended today, the Delhi police have demanded a 14-day from the court.


He was arrested for hurting the sentiments of Hindus. His arrest came after around a month when he highlighted the remark in Prophet Mohammad made by former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma.
