Fact-Checker co-founder Zubair Khan arrested by police, will appear before Delhi court today at 4 pm

The FIR lodged against the Fact-Checker’s co-founder reads, "Transmission and publication of such posts have been deliberately done by Mohammed Zubair@zoo_bear through electronic media to insult the religious feelings of a particular community with the intent to provoke breach of peace."

Co-founder of the website, ‘Fact-Checker’ was arrested by police on Monday evening in connection with a Tweet he had posted in 2018. The arrest came after around a month when Zubair highlighted the remark in Prophet Mohammad made by former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma.


As per the Delhi police, the Tweet that led to Zubair’s arrest was termed highly provocative and was potent enough to trigger disharmony in society.


  In the controversial tweet, he shared a short clip from the movie “Kissi Se Na Kehna” in which the name of the hotel changed from “Honeymoon Hotel” was changed to “Hanuman Hotel”.


He was charged by the police for hurting the religious sentiments of a particular section of the society and was taken into police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Delhi court today at 4 pm.
