Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday for approving the state's electronic manufacturing cluster.

During a news conference in the city, Mr. Fadnavis claimed that it was false to claim that major projects were leaving Maharashtra.

The deputy chief minister said, "First about Foxconn, I already mentioned that Subash Desai (former industries minister) said that Foxconn project would not come to Maharashtra."

"About Tata Airbus project, they are setting a fake narrative," The deputy chief minister also said, adding that, "When I come to know that Tata is going to Gujarat but I requested Tata come to Nagpur when we are in Opposition."

Mr Fadnavis said "Some people are saying that all projects are going to Gujarat but this is not right. Projects and investments are going to other states, also."

The deputy chief minister promised to place Maharashtra at the top in two years and said that these false narratives were keeping investors away from the state.

"Due to the atmosphere being created, industrialists are turning away from Maharashtra. I suspect that this is a conspiracy by MVA to confuse the investors coming to Maharashtra and ensure that Maharashtra remains deprived of investment" he claimed.
