“Gangsters running parallel government in Punjab” claims Moosewala’s father Balkaur Singh

“We were lucky that he escaped during elections as at least eight attempts had gone awry. During elections, once Warring (Congress leader Amrinder Singh Raja Warring) had asked me how is campaigning, and I had said let my son remain alive, we are least concerned with win or loss.”

On Tuesday, Balkaur Singh, the father of slain singer Shidu Moose Wala claimed that Punjab is witnessing a parallel government of gangsters. He also slammed the Aam Aadmi Party-led government for reducing the security of his son a day before he was killed on May 29.

“Gangsters are running their parallel government in Punjab. My son Sidhu was a victim of one of the gangster groups even though he had no connection with any gang,” Balkaur Singh said.

Balkau Singh while inaugurating a local project revealed that around 50 to 60 people were after the life of his son. He also informed that in past, eight attempts to kill him were made during the elections in Punjab.

Singh added, “We were lucky that he escaped during elections as at least eight attempts had gone awry. During elections, once Warring (Congress leader Amrinder Singh Raja Warring) had asked me how is campaigning, and I had said let my son remain alive, we are least concerned with win or loss.”

Balkaur Singh further highlighted that several people were trying to link his son’s name to gangsters but he never had any connection with these gangs. “He had to pay the price of getting recognition across the world, many wanted to spoil his career.”
