IND VS PAK MEN’S T20 WORLD CUP 2022: ALL EYES ON INDIA AS THEY HOPE TO PUT 2021 TO REST

With India taking on Pakistan in the Group B match in the T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12, cricket is getting ready for the mother of all rivalries. Fans are crossing their fingers despite the rain danger looming hugely over the Melbourne Cricket Ground, which is preparing for an audience of 1 lakh people.

India has always performed admirably against Pakistan in World Cups (both T20 and ODI), but the most recent matchup between the two teams in the UAE told a different story. India struggled with the bat and the ball as Shaheen Afridi ran riot with the new ball. Despite Virat Kohli's half-century, the team's total of 151 runs was insufficient for Pakistan.

A strong batting team on one side, with flaws in its bowling as a result of the absence of one important superstar, and a conservative top order that set its eyes on par totals in confidence that its high-calibre, high-pace attack could hold them off on the other.

The unpredictable Melbourne weather doesn't seem to want to be the one to ruin everything. On the day before the crucial match between India and Pakistan on Sunday, the gloomy weather forecast has significantly improved.

The Bureau of Meteorology revised its estimate on Saturday night from a 95% likelihood of rain and 20mm of precipitation on Sunday evening to a 70% chance of rain and only two to five mm of it.

"You don't know what is going to happen tomorrow. The things that are in our control, we'll try and control that, which is we'll have a good training session today, go back, relax and get ready for tomorrow. As simple as that. We need to come here thinking that it's a 40-over game. We will be ready for that”, said Rohit Sharma about the escalating weather conditions just before the match.
