Another example of inflation is set with the increase of the price of Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders by Rs 50. The latest revision has ascertained the domestic LPG cylinders will cost Rs 999.50 in Delhi.

The jump in LGP prices has come when the country is already battling rising prices of petrol and diesel in the country. The hike in the prices has triggered the woes of the common man in India.

Earlier this month, the cost of commercial LPG cylinders was also increased. On May 1, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder was hiked by Rs 102.50, to Rs 2355.50, up from Rs 2253 before, whereas the price of a 5-kg LPG commercial cylinder settled at Rs 655 after the increase.

The recent hike in petrol and petroleum products is attributed to a sharp increase in global energy prices due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
