In a shocking incident, a married woman hired a contract killer to murder her husband so that she could unite with her 29-year-old lover. the police said the trio- wife, her lover, and killer were arrested in the murder on Thursday.
The accused were identified as Zeeba Qureshi (40), her lover, Shoaib (29), and the contract killer, Vinit Goswami. The husband and the victim Zeeba Qureshi, namely Moinuddin Qureshi, was a workshop owner. He was shot dead by the hired killer on May 17 in Daryaganj.
Deputy commissioner of police (central) Shweta Chauhan said that during the investigation over 500 videos of CCTV footage from the area were examined and more than 100 people were questioned in the matter.
Eventually, when the investigation zeroed in on Zeeba, she told the police that she got married to Qureshi 25 years ago. at that time she was in her teen years.
“She alleged that Qureshi used to drink alcohol and spent time flying kites. She said that she wanted to end the marriage. She also said that about two years ago, she met Shoaib on Facebook, and they started meeting. Zeba said she wanted to get married to Shoaib,” DCP Chauhan said.
