Mumbai Congress protests ED summons issued to Rahul Gandhi

money laundering agency issuing notices to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and her MP son Rahul Gandhi in a "false" case, according to state unit president Nana Patole.

Patole, speaking to media in New Delhi, accused the Modi government of planning a plot to frame Sonia and Rahul Gandhi in a bogus case.

In a money laundering investigation involving the National Herald-AJL agreement, the ED has issued summonses to Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. 

According to Patole, demonstrations would be held outside the ED offices in Mumbai and Nagpur, with all key Congress leaders and ministers in attendance.

He claimed that the BJP government in power at the federal level is carrying out a political vengeance against Sonia and RahulGandhi.

"The ED has issued notifications to Soniaji and Rahulji by implicating them in a bogus case, as part of the Central government's plan to quiet the opposition by exploiting the Central agencies.  

On June 13, rallies would be organised in front of the ED offices in Mumbai and Nagpur to oppose the BJP's totalitarian attitude "he stated

Patole will lead the demonstration in Mumbai, while Energy Minister Nitin Gadkari will lead the one in Nagpur. 

Patole stated that the Congress is not afraid of the Modi government's "repression techniques."

He charged the central government with disregarding democratic values and the Constitution.

"The central investigative agencies, including as the CBI, ED, Income Tax, and NCB, have been transformed into puppets by the Modi government and are being used to stifle the opposition.  

Opposition party leaders are being raided across the country, and legal action is being launched against them.

Congress, according to Patole, has taken tothe streets to protest the Centre over issues such as the revocation of three "black" agrarian laws, inflation, and unemployment.
