In relation to its investigation into funding for terrorist activities in Mumbai and other areas, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) said in a statement on Saturday that it has filed a charge sheet against underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, his close aide Chhota Shakeel, and three other members of the "D Company", a term used for the trans-national criminal syndicate belonging to Ibrahim.

Arif Abubakar Shaikh alias Arif Bhaijaan, Shabbir Abubakar Shaikh, and Mohammad Salim Qureshi alias Salim Fruit were recently identified in the charge sheet with Dawood, a global terrorist recognised by the UN, and Chhota Shakeel, who is also from Pakistan. The NIA has arrested all three of them.

According to the agency, the three people arrested got money from Dawood and Shakeel to carry out terrorist activities all around the nation.

Investigations have shown that the accused, who are members of the D-Company, a terrorist organisation and an organised crime syndicate, conspired to advance the gang's criminal endeavours by engaging in a variety of illegal acts. For the D-Company, for the benefit of a specific terrorist (Dawood Ibrahim in this case), and with the intention of posing a threat to India's security and sowing fear in the hearts of the general public, they raised, collected, and demanded large sums of money through threats and intimidation, a National Investigation Agency (NIA) spokesman said in a statement.
