No access to yatra without RFID Tags, Nitishwar Kumar

According to Nitishwar Kumar, if pilgrims arrive for the yatra by plane or train, facilities for the distribution of RFIDtags would be available at the airport and railway station.  

"Pilgrims would be given RFID cards at the different points when they reachthe valley, whether they arrive in Jammu or take the road for yatra," he added.

RFID tags would aid in the tracking ofpilgrims and in determining their location.  

"RFID has many benefits, the most important of which is that it will detect any unauthorised persons, allowing security agencies to identify them," said the CEO of the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, adding that everyone should support the yatra, including Ponywallas,those responsible for langer sewa, and others.

Locals who participate in the yatra in various ways will also receive RFID tags, he added, adding that security and other measures are already in place for the upcoming yatra.
