Goutam Paul, the new president president of the West Bengal Board of Primary Education, assured on Tuesday that no one who passed the Teacher Eligibility Test will be left out and urged the numerous candidates who are complaining to have faith in the Board. According to him, the Board will now regularly hold the TET in Bengal every year, and primary school hiring will be done twice a year in a fair, transparent, and scientific manner.

Passing the TET is not equal to getting jobs, and we will go by the merit-based panel, Paul stated when addressing the reporters. A sit-in has been going on for more than 576 days before the Gandhi statue in the centre of the city by about 200 people who passed the TET in 2014 and 2016 but have not yet been hired as teachers.

For instance, 1 lakh of the 8 lakh individuals who pass the NEET (Medical) exams are accepted into medical schools all around the nation depending on their rankings. Not all of the eight lakhs have the right to ask for accommodation at medical colleges. The Board has sympathy for each and every TET applicant, but we must follow the law, he explained. Paul stated that, if necessary, he is prepared for any further TET-related questions or probes. "We'll follow the NCTE question format, and we'll upload all the details online." Of the 1,24,952 candidates from the 2016 TET, 1,18,821 signed up for the hiring process, and 42,627 were appointed," he said.

A total of 29,665 applicants signed up for the recruiting procedure in 2020–21, and 13,685 of them were appointed.
