A powerful LPG cylinder blast at a restaurant on Shimla's Mall Road on Wednesday afternoon claimed one life and injured several others. The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Prashant Chauhan, a resident of Solan.

The blast took place at the restaurant, called "Shimla Spice", around 2:30 pm. The restaurant is located on the first floor of a building on Mall Road.

The blast was so powerful that it shook the entire building and shattered glass windows of nearby shops. Several people were also injured in the blast, including Prashant Chauhan, who later died of his injuries.

The cause of the blast is still under investigation, but police suspect that it may have been caused by a gas leak. A team of police and fire officials reached the spot and cordoned off the area. The rescue operation is underway.

This is the second such incident in Shimla in the past two months. In May, an LPG cylinder blast at a restaurant in the city's Lower Bazaar area had killed two people and injured several others.

The police are asking anyone with information about the blast to come forward.

The blast has caused death of one person and wounded 10 others. The injured have been admitted to Indira Gandhi Medical College Hospital ( IGMCH) Shimla. It also caused

widespread panic in the area. The police have urged people to remain calm and cooperate with the authorities.
