On Friday, the Popular Front of India called for a nationwide protest against the Enforcement Directorate. The PFI workers will kick off the protest at 2 pm.

Earlier, Enforcement Directorate filed a charge sheet in PMLA Court against PFI, stating that it was involved in terror funding and illegal activities. The agency also stated that the PFI was involved in sparking violence in the Delhi riots on social media and made posters related to Babri Masjid, instigating people against NRC and Common Civil Code.

A couple of days ago, the ED attached 23 bank accounts linked to PFI with a collective balance of Rs 59 lakhs and 10 bank accounts of PFI’s front organization, Rehab India Foundation (RIF), with the balance of Rs 9.50 lakh in a money laundering case.

“An amount of more than Rs 60 crore has been deposited in the accounts of PFI which includes cash deposit of more than Rs 30 crore since 2009. Similarly, around Rs 58 Crore have been deposited in the accounts of RIF since 2010,” ED said in a statement.

ED’s actions didn’t go well with the PFI, so it decided to mark their protest against the investigation agency.
