According to the USGS, a strong earthquake of magnitude 5.6 shook Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, and the surrounding towns of India's capital today. The National Centre for Seismology has the following to say about today's earthquake: "6.3 Magnitude Earthquake, 09-11-2022, 01:57:24 IST, Lat: 29.24 & Long: 81.06, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Nepal."

This is the second day in a row that earthquake vibrations have been detected in Delhi-NCR following a 4.5-magnitude earthquake that struck Nepal early Tuesday morning, November 8. Today, earthquake tremors were detected in several districts of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, the USGS claimed that the earthquake's epicentre was in Dipayal, Nepal.

On Wednesday morning, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal went to Twitter to express his wish that everyone in the national capital is safe, hours after powerful earthquakes were detected in Delhi and the NCR region.

At least six persons were killed and five were injured in Nepal as a result of home collapses caused by the earthquake. Three earthquakes have struck Nepal in the previous 24 hours. A Deputy Superintendent of Police in Doti stated that numerous houses in the district had fallen. According to Reuters, a ground rescue team has been dispatched to the scene, and two helicopters are on standby in the adjacent towns of Surkhet and Nepalgunj.
