Teenager shot dead in Delhi, police say investigation underway

Sohail was a worker in a garment factory and was living with his uncle in the Shriram colony for the last 6 years. Police have said that the teenager was shot in the chest at around 10:40 pm on Friday

In a heinous incident, a teenager was shot dead in the national capital on Friday night. The victim was identified as 19-year-old Sohail. The killing took place in the Khajuri Khas area of northeast Delhi. 



Sohail was a worker in a garment factory and was living with his uncle in the Shriram colony for the last 6 years. Police have said that the teenager was shot in the chest at around 10:40 pm on Friday. 



Just a few minutes after the incident, the police team reached the spot and found Sohail lying lifeless in a pool of blood. in an attempt to save his life, Sohail was rushed to JPC Hospital, but there he was declared dead.



"Sohail is my aunt's son. He used to live here with us. I came to know from my friend about the incident. When I reached, I found him lying on the ground. I was told that some people shot him and fled. Police are investigating the case and have taken Sohail to the hospital. We want the police to identify the murderer soon." said Sohail's cousin, Mubarak Ansari.



"He had no enemies. He used to go to work and come home directly. He had been living with us for the last six years. We have never heard about his fight with anyone to date," he added.



The initial investigation has zeroed in on a suspect and he is being constantly being tracked, said police.
