Mamata Banerjee, leader of the Trinamool Congress and West Bengal Chief Minister, will meet with party MPs here on Wednesday to discuss the party's strategy for the winter session of Parliament.

According to party insiders, Banerjee is expected to instruct party leaders to emphasise pro-people concerns on the House floor. The meeting is scheduled at 3 p.m. at the home of senior party MP Saugata Roy. Banerjee attended the G20 conference on Monday, which was presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and then travelled to Ajmer Sharif on Tuesday with his nephew and party national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee.

Parliament's winter session began on Wednesday. The session will last 23 days, with 17 sittings until it closes on December 29.
